Positioned as a lightweight, water-friendly trail shoe, McGregor says the X1 is a &quot,christian louboutin boots;hybrid between a hydro-type product and trail type" shoe. Indeed, the company refers to it as amphibious–suitable for land and water–a positioning that represents Teva’s future. The X1 will be retail priced at $90. "It is the [product] bridge that will get Teva on the map and get us to the closed-toe part of the business," asserts McGregor.
The transition, of course, is easier to map out than accomplish. ysl boots will not only need to cultivate new business from new retailers, but convince its current roster of dealers that its product line extension merits additional orders.
"The category of water sandals or sport sandals is as normal as the category of hiking boots, and christian shoe was responsible for that more than any other brand," comments Tom Valone, owner and president of the seven-store, Raleigh, NC-based Great Outdoor Provision Company. &quot,louboutin boots;[But] it remains to be seen whether they can make [the same type] of high-quality, seminal product that got them to the dance in the first place." He adds, "I’ve seen companies try to expand horizontally. We can’t have every item in our store. As retailers, we have to listen to our customers. It is possible that a product can win market approval. But it’s not as possible in the outdoor market because we’re users [of the product] and it has to be good quality and of sound value."
Teva executives contend that it was technology that brought the brand acclaim in the water sandal market, and the same principles of that technology will foster its transition to the closed-toe portion of the business.
